About me

Neil Mason, yesterday

Since 1995, I’ve worked in a variety of writing and editing capacities for a wide range of clients and have held a number of key editorial positions in the magazine industry. I was a sub editor at IPC’s Muzik magazine and album editor and then reviews editor at Melody Maker, before joining NME.com as the inaugural features editor in 2000. I have worked on many high profile online projects, including warchildmusic.com, a pre-iTunes music download site that raised over £500,000 for the War Child charity during my Editorship. I have also worked as a freelance editor, researcher and writer in book publishing, most notably working on a raft of titles for Dorling Kindersley. I’m current the commissioning editor at Electronic Sound, an independent print title covering electronic music both old and new.
