About me
Since 1995, I’ve worked in a variety of writing and editing capacities for a wide range of clients and have held a number of key editorial positions in the magazine industry. I was a sub-editor at IPC’s Muzik and the reviews editor at Melody Maker, before joining nme.com as the inaugural features editor in 2000.
I have worked on many high profile online projects, including warchildmusic.com, a pre-iTunes music download site that raised over £500,000 for the War Child charity during my Editorship, and indiestore.com, a DIY download site for unsigned bands. I am also the co-founder of the online football network, myfootballwriter.com, and self-service digital ad network addiply.com.
Writing-wise I have written extensively for titles such as Rolling Stone, Zoo, Mixmag and countless websites many of which are long gone. I also work as a freelance editor, researcher and writer in book publishing, most notably working on business and consumer titles for Dorling Kindersley. I occasionally run my own websites, mynewfavouriteband.com and vinyl love-in site rippingvinyl.co.uk.
